Ceramides for an oral addition to your skincare routine. These lipids are part of the skin’s natural barrier, which helps retain moisture. LipidCell contains wheat-derived CERAMOSIDES™, an oral ingredient studied for skin hydration, alongside squalene and vitamins A and E.
Two capsules provide 70 mg CERAMOSIDES™, including 10.5 mg ceramides, and 1000 mg squalene. The 70 mg oil ingredient was studied in a 56-day trial; the research did not test the complete LipidCell formula.
Vitamin A helps maintain normal skin, while vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress. The squalene and gelatin shell are fish-derived, so LipidCell is not vegetarian or vegan.

What are ceramides, and why are they used in a skin supplement?
Ceramides are lipids found naturally in the skin’s protective barrier, where they help retain moisture. Plant-derived ceramides are called phytoceramides. LipidCell provides them through CERAMOSIDES™, an ingredient from wheat germ oil. Two capsules contain 70 mg of this ingredient, including 10.5 mg ceramides.
The reason for choosing it is research on oral use, rather than results from ceramide creams.
What research is there on oral CERAMOSIDES™?
A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with 72 women with dry skin tested oral CERAMOSIDES™ for 56 days, including an oil formulation at 70 mg per day. The researchers reported improvements in skin hydration and other measured skin parameters.
Two LipidCell capsules supply 70 mg of the oil ingredient, but the study did not test LipidCell with its added squalene and vitamins. The authors worked for the ingredient supplier. Source: PMID 38100124.
Is LipidCell vegan or vegetarian?
No. The softgel shell contains fish gelatin. The formula also contains fish-derived squalene and wheat-derived CERAMOSIDES™.
Can I take LipidCell if I avoid gluten or have a wheat allergy?
CERAMOSIDES™ is wheat-derived. Check the full label and ask a healthcare professional about your specific wheat allergy or gluten intolerance before use.
How does LipidCell fit alongside skincare?
LipidCell is an oral food supplement with a daily capsule format. A ceramide cream is applied directly to the skin. Follow LipidCell’s labelled serving alongside your usual skincare, and continue any treatment prescribed for a skin condition.
How many LipidCell capsules should I take?
Take 2 capsules daily with water. 60 capsules provide 30 daily servings. The daily serving provides 800 µg vitamin A and 24 mg vitamin E.
Can I combine LipidCell with another vitamin A supplement?
Two capsules contain 800 µg vitamin A (100% NRV). Check the total from all supplements before combining. The label says not to use LipidCell during pregnancy or breastfeeding; taking a smaller serving does not remove that restriction.
