Questions about this range

Which Licur product should I choose?

Both Licur products are built on the same NovaSOL® micellar curcumin. Licur Max is the pure, vegan version. Licur 7000 adds vitamin D3, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the maintenance of normal bones. The 30-capsule packs cover one month of daily use, the 60-capsule packs two.

Why is there no black pepper (piperine) in these capsules?

Standard curcumin powder is poorly absorbed, so traditional supplements add piperine to compensate. NovaSOL® solves the problem differently: the curcumin is already dissolved into micelles that the gut can take up directly — in a published pharmacokinetic study (Schiborr et al., 2014) the micellar form showed 185 times higher measured bioavailability than standard curcumin powder. Piperine simply isn't needed.

What does "liquid" or "micellar" curcumin mean?

Curcumin does not dissolve in water, which limits how much of it the body can absorb from compressed powder. In the micellar form the curcumin travels inside tiny water-friendly spheres (micelles) — the same principle the body uses to transport fats from a meal. Each Licaps® capsule therefore contains a liquid solubilizate instead of pressed powder.

Are Licur capsules vegan?

Licur Max is vegan: the solubilizate is plant-based and the Licaps® shell is made from HPMC, not gelatin. Licur 7000 is vegetarian.

How do I take curcumin capsules — and is there anything to watch out for?

One capsule a day, swallowed with water, with or without a meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. If you take anticoagulant medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting curcumin.
